This is a place where we encourage creativity and try to develop our writing as well as enjoy the work of others.
Rules are subject to change, but this is the basic jist of things:
1. We don't have any problems kicking ANYONE who disrupts the positive energy of the board. In fact, it sort of gives Jewel a power rush, so please don't make an ass of yourself.
2. Anything found on this board is NOT subject to archiving anywhere else. PM the author if you wish to host any of their work.
3. Posting is by permission ONLY. If you want to post on the board simply PM a Mob Boss with a link to your story. All stories will be lightly screened before anyone is given permission to post. Anyone who posts anything WITHOUT permission will have their stuff taken down.
All genres are accepted, but there is still going to be slight screening because of a few things I will mention now:
To post, you have to be an amateur writer who wants to improve and who loves to write. We will not prevent anyone from posting based on ship in any category. That being said, there is no requirement for anyone to read what you post, so KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE.
This is NOT for sensationalism or what I would refer to as 'kiddie fic'.
If you write like this, "wut u sayin, alek, i m not a bitch" or your chapters are a paragraph long, then you can't post, there's just no way around it. If you don't care enough to write in English so that people can understand, you don't care enough about your writing to post at Gumboot Mafia. Sorry, get spell check and deal with the problem.
4. No flaming! If you don't like something that is posted, don't read it. If you feel something should not for some reason be posted, simply PM a Mob Boss.
5. PLEASE give constructive criticism. This is a small community, we need to be honest with each other in the hope that we will get better and perfect our craft. If there is anything that bothers you about something someone has written and you think it can be improved, make suggestions and discuss those options.
6. Do not take constructive criticism personally, it's just annoying.
7. Review all scarlet's work.
8. Please take the time to help others learn what they can do better and what they're good at, this is a team effort to improve.

9. No begging for reviews. It makes me want to beat you with a metal spike.
10. Everything but short poetry should be linked OFF-SITE on either an angelfire account, google docs, personal website, freewebs, wordpress, etc. If you don't have a website and for some reason can't get one, PM myself or another Mob Boss. You can link to your livejournal account.
11. Stories CANNOT BE LINKED ONTO ANOTHER BOARD OR FANFICTION.NET.
11. All NC-17 works need to be properly labelled as such.
Abide by the lawful age requirements, please.
12. Leave feedback for a story in the thread of that story or, if you feel the need, PM the author.
13. The board is a representation of us. While we won't be inviting people to post that we feel will use the opportunity innappropriately, should it happen, we have no problem yanking work.
14. Also, this board is NOT designed for lurking. While you are not required to review by any stretch of the imagination, the board is designed for growth and we would appreciate your help and willingness to join in that effort. We want this to be a place where we can improve our writing through the feedback of others.
15. Since this multi-ship, we will not tolerate any flaming.
